What Actually Happens During a Session

Every session follows the same four stages, whether you're booking a single-club consult or a full bag rebuild. The time spent in each stage scales with what you bring in.

1

Low-Point Read

Before any equipment conversation starts, we set up a divot board and take a series of face-tape strikes with your current clubs. This gives us your low point — where your swing arc bottoms out relative to the ball — along with an early read on whether your strike tends to sit toward the heel or toe. Everything downstream in the session references this number.

2

Demo & Component Fitting

With a low-point baseline in hand, we move to head, shaft, length, and lie fitting on the launch monitor, comparing demo stock across brands. This stage is standard fitting practice — loft, flex, and weight are dialed in the way most fitters approach it — but every recommendation is checked against your low-point read rather than a generic swing-speed chart.

3

Sole Grind Pass

For irons and wedges, once head and shaft are locked in, we move to the bench. Camber, trailing-edge relief, sole width, and heel/toe relief are cut in stages, checked against a digital profile gauge between passes, and compared side by side with the stock sole so you can see exactly what's changing and why.

4

Verify & Release

After grinding, lie, loft, and swing weight are re-measured — grinding can shift static weight slightly, and we correct for it before anything leaves the bench. You walk out with a written grind ticket documenting every spec, so a future regrind or a second club can start from the same baseline.

Timing

How Long Each Stage Actually Takes

A single-club consult moves through all four stages in roughly 30–45 minutes, since the demo stage is usually skipped if you're keeping the same head. A full bag session runs longer, with most of the extra time going into demo comparison across drivers, fairway woods, hybrids, and putters — the actual grind pass itself, once specs are locked, typically takes 10–15 minutes per club.

Total Session Time

30–45 minutes for a single club, 75–100 minutes for a full bag session including demo comparison and a complete grind pass on irons and wedges.
